.The Kindle DX provides users with a brand new way to read—everything. Users are able to purchase books, newspapers, magazines, and even subscribe to selected blogs with the pageless reading machine. The Kindle is able to hold up to 3,500 books/magazines/newspapers with its 3.3GB’s of usable memory.
One unique feature that is new on the DX is the native PDF reader ability. Users can upload any PDF file from their computer and take it on the run with them with their Kindle DX. But, there is not a way to zoom in or out while looking at PDF’s on the Kindle, which could pose problems for small text displays.
With a 9.7” screen, the Kindle DX displays text, and pictures nicely for easy reading. The display is grey-tones only, and does not allow for colors. Also, much like the iPhone, turning the reader sideways gives the user a landscape view for a different way of reading. However, the screen in not back-lit, which allows for people to read in sunlight without much problem, but the option of reading in the dark is the same as a normal book.
